ATTERSEE

Lake Attersee is the largest inland lake in Austria, with a length of almost 19 km and a width of 1.25 to 3.3 km. Moreover, Lake Attersee exceeds with its water volume many larger lakes. Among the numerous lakes in the Salzkammergut, Lake Attersee has an unique blue, which is due to the drinking water quality of the water, the refraction of light as well as the calcite crystals and other factors. Especially in summer, Lake Attersee shines mostly in a beautiful and unique turquoise blue. This is why the region is often referred to the title "The Caribbean of the Salzkammergut".
